The 2021-2022 school year was a year of growth!
After 20 years of visionary, dedicated, and fierce leadership Vicki Howell retired as the Head of School. She trusted that we would continue to drive academic results while creatively reaching a greater number of students to deliver a wider community impact.
We enrolled 100 students in one year for the first time ever! We were able to do this by continuing to provide our program with fidelity while opening a second location.
We trained all of our existing teachers in Orton Gillingham and additional multi-sensory programs like Marilyn Zecher's math. This focused effort contributed to the more than 2 years growth that most of our students achieved in reading this year! We couldn't have done this without the committed parents, volunteers, financial sponsors and board of directors.
dePaul's nearly 40 years of expertise provided a creative opportunity. We developed a partnership with Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Pete for the fall of 2022. This model allows us immediate access to hundreds of students that we don't even know yet! Some simply can't access our North County location, are currently struggling in high school, and potentially aren't even aware that they have a disability.
We're really excited for the future of dePaul - a dedicated school for language based learning difficulties and a partnership program with established schools.
