Dear Parents, Teachers, Community, Alumni and Board Members,
Today is my official first day as the Head of School at dePaul!
I am honored to continue the incredible dedication to our mission that Vicki Howell has provided over the past 20 years. Vicki evolved the work of Dr. Charles Shedd and Sister Anne Rita Mauck from 1965 by embracing the Orton Gillingham approach to educate our students utilizing the dePaul Structured Linguistics curriculum. As we grow to reach more students, we will rely on our decades of expertise and evidence-based outcomes to continue to empower students to excel.
dePaul is a place for bright students that are struggling to learn at other schools. We focus on the child as a whole and embrace the unique strengths of each individual student to create a well-rounded and supportive environment to learn. I am incredibly proud of the resilience, grit, and creativity that each of our students have and that is so important to be successful in life. Their energy and ability to achieve is infectious and inspires each of us to continue the life changing work that we do every day.
As a parent of children that have learning disabilities (one is a student at dePaul) I appreciate and respect the trust you afford to us to grow with your child every day. Know that dePaul is more than a transformative school, we are a warm and welcoming family.
I am incredibly excited to lead The dePaul School into our next chapter!
Sincerely,
Annmarie McEwan
Head of School
