New Year, New Spaces, New Faces!

A lot of things changed over the summer at the dePaul School! Over the summer months we remodeled and expanded several areas - creating 2 new classrooms, additional administrative space and a fresh, new library. With the additional classrooms, we were able to increase enrollment to 76 students. With 76 students we needed additional teachers. With additional students and teachers came the need for a second fulltime administrator!

dePaul School - Doing Things Right

After attending the International Dyslexia Association's Annual Conference recently, I am once again filled with pride and reminded of how strong our school is! I toured the Shelton School in Dallas, the largests LD school in the U.S. with over 890 students. What I took away from that tour is that we do everything as well (in some cases I would say better!) as they do - just on a smaller scale.

Alumni Visit

What a fantastic day it was at dePaul -- we were fortunate to have 4 dyslexic young men, 3 of them dePaul Alumni, come and speak to our students. They shared stories and experiences - some funny, some poignant - and they shared tips and strategies for success in life after dePaul. It was so inspiring for our students to see these smart, motivated young men who all struggle with dyslexia.

They are living proof that with hard work and a positive attitude, people with learning disabilities are able to succeed!
